Yakuza 6 Mahjong

龍が如く6 命の詩。_20161203110417

Let’s make lots of money!

You don’t need to talk to the guy at reception to play, just walk straight up to a table. At Modern Mahjong (in the old Karaokekan building on Senryou Street) your choices are between intermediate and advanced (中 – intermediate; 強 – advanced). It costs 25,000 yen to play on the intermediate table, and 50,000 to play on the advanced one. At Lullaby Mahjong on Tenkaichi Street, your choices are between easy and intermediate (弱 – easy; 中 – intermediate). It costs 12,500 to play on the easy table, and 25,000 to play on the intermediate one. Select the top option in the menu to start playing. Continue reading “Yakuza 6 Mahjong”

Yakuza 6 karaoke translation – “hands” UPDATE: now with video

1

Here’s the English lyrics for “hands”. I’d planned to do Y-Ji Road next, but then I went to do karaoke after beating the game and saw this had appeared. Even on the first play through, I understood enough to know I wanted to do this one first!

Since it’s Premium Adventure exclusive though, please consider it may be spoiler-ish before clicking read more (I would say only in tone, there’s definitely nothing story-specific). (Um … unless you didn’t already know about the baby!) Continue reading “Yakuza 6 karaoke translation – “hands” UPDATE: now with video”

The Yakuza 6 Abilities Menu

I was putting off doing this, hoping someone else would get to it first … but actually it wasn’t that bad. I’m so glad the heat moves have video demonstrations – a picture paints a thousand words, so I skipped translating them!

These are your basic skills, which are all we’ve been able to upgrade in the trial version.

Here’s the rest of the lists. And yay Tiger Drop in Battle Skills. (The note says you can’t unlock it until you’re at attack power 180.)

As always, I’ll continue to update as I unlock more stuff. I’ll try and remember to update instructions for unlocked skills too.

Awesome news! English releases for Kiwami in 6 months, Yakuza 6 in a year! I’m so happy. I loved Kiwami when I stumbled through it in Japanese earlier this year. So I can’t wait to play it again. (I wonder if Mesking makes any more sense in English … I kind of suspect it doesn’t!)

I’m still going to play 6 in Japanese, of course I am, I need to know what happens to Kiryu, like NOW! Besides, I’ve already preordered 😁. But if I didn’t think my Japanese was strong enough to get through it, I would be waiting till it comes out in English – that’s why I haven’t played Zero yet. So I can’t really imagine there will be much of a demand for English help for 6 now … and part of me wonders if that’s why they’ve announced it now. I don’t mean that in any kind of a bad way, just that it’s a bit like being told:

“Oh hey, thinking of struggling through this with some amateur translations and a google-translated Japanese wiki? It’s okay, you don’t have to. Just be patient a little while longer.”

So that’s great. On the other hand, of course – if you do want amateur translations, you’ve come to the right place … and the Japanese wikis are over here:

Yakuza 6 vending machines

Or: what do all these drinks do??

So there are a few different types. The first one gives you extra XP from fighting. The different coloured icons show which ability is boosted:

Yakuza 6 achievement/completion lists

So it’s confirmed that there is no more bowling, pool, or gambling of any type except for Mahjong. No coliseum, no UFO catcher, no purikura (though who needs that when you have a smartphone, I guess). On the bright side (for me at least!) – no Shogi, pachinko or slots. I’m sad about koi koi though, that had become my favourite minigame lately.

Anyway, let’s run through the lists and see what there is. (Clan Creator is pretty sparse, as we can’t play that yet. And I’ll keep updating as I clear stuff and see more of the lists.)

Yakuza 6 emails – Tips, Battle Master and News

龍が如く6 命の詩。_20161129183748

The moment the game gives you control in Sunshine, you start receiving emails. Here’s basic translations of all the emails received through the game from Tips, Battle Master and News. (Note: not full translation; I’m paraphrasing and/or skipping stuff that’s the same as previous games.) Continue reading “Yakuza 6 emails – Tips, Battle Master and News”

Yakuza 6 RIZAP basics

I played through this today … lots of talking and explaining … so here’s the basics. Wander up the side of Theater Square, where Mach Bowl used to be (I miss Mach Bowl already) and you’ll see two guys talking, one of whom is saying he got his awesome body from training at RIZAP. So Kiryu decides to check it out.

RIZAP is a private members-only sports gym. If you enrol, you get a personal trainer who will give you individual advice on training and nutrition. You have to commit to the RIZAP challenge! Rah! That’s Makuda, your extremely enthusiastic personal trainer. Continue reading “Yakuza 6 RIZAP basics”

Ryu ga Gotoku 6 menus and settings

Quick and dirty (as opposed to slow and dirty like normal …) translations of the Yakuza 6 menus.

The main menu you see after you “press any button” …
